According to Wikipedia, Narcissism is a term with a wide range of meanings, depending on whether it is used to describe a central concept of psychoanalytic theory, a mental illness, a social or cultural problem, or simply a personality trait.
So I self-evaluated my own personality traits and my answers are in CAPS:
- An obvious self-focus in interpersonal exchanges. NO
- Problems in sustaining satisfying relationships. NO
- A lack of psychological awareness. NO
- Difficulty with empathy. DEPENDS
- Problems distinguishing the self from others. NO
- Hypersensitivity to any insults or imagined insults. EXPLAIN HYPERSENSITIVITY
- Vulnerability to shame rather than guilt. NO
- Flattery towards people who admire and affirm them. HUH?
- Detesting those who do not admire them. REALLY?
- Using other people without considering the cost of doing so. DEFINE USING
- Pretending to be more important than they really are. NORMAL
- Bragging (subtley but persistently) and exaggerating their achievements. I KNOW THEM
- Claiming to be an "expert" at many things. I WISHED
- Inability to view the world from the perspective of other people. NO, UNLESS THEY ARE CRIMINALS
- Denial of remorse and gratitude. I AM GRATEFUL... I AM NOT IN DENIAL.

Love the post Zola Zuri, but I will disagree with the radio spot only in that, the personality traits in people have always been there. The internet just provides a platform for people to easily "share" their views with others. So the internet hasn't caused narcissism, it has enhanced what was already there!
Narcissism versus Ego.....?
